TASTE OF LOCUST VALLEY
Last night we held the 7th Annual Taste of Locust Valley.  It was a tremendous success.  Well over 200 people attended and enjoyed the evening.  The vendors were also pleased.
This event was the brainchild of a member of the Locust Valley Rotary Club, the late Joseph “Skip” Barry.  The Taste of Locust Valley started out as a small affair at the Haybarn at the Planting Fields Arboretum but Skip had the vision to know that if we stuck with it we would have great success.  As we can see, Skip was right and would have been proud of the event last evening.
Kudos to the committee and all of the Locust Valley Rotary Club.

Tom Mohen – Calling all Locust Valley Rotarians to get behind the LV Rotary’s Gift of Life Gala, on March 23rd.   The event will be a wonderful evening at a beautiful NYC mansion overlooking Central Park on 5th Avenue.  We are very lucky to have been able to put together this amazing event for our Club’s special event to support a unique Gift of Life development that we are spearheading.  The $125 per head ticket price is a steal for this fabulous Friday night Gala in NYC, and includes great food, open bars, a champagne and caviar bar, a Lincoln Center small orchestra, violinists, U.N. Dignitaries, etc.  The ticket price is less than our actual cost, so we really need everyone’s help to market sponsorships (no amount is too small) and raffle tickets.  We really need everyone on this to make it a success.  PLEASE, we respectfully ask for many Rotarians to work on our committee. The next meeting will be on Feb. 1, 2007 at 5:00 PM in the Conference Room of the Boys and Girls Club on Forest Avenue in Locust Valley.  Please come.  ALSO – check our website at www.NYgala.org
